The Berkeley River Lodge is a true dream escape in one of the world’s finest natural settings. Luxury villas sit atop a 65 metre-high dune offering panoramic views spanning a gulf, gorges, river and an island. The hotel was designed to blend in with the coast allowing nature to do the talking in this most rich and vivid landscape. Described as “God’s Land”, you'll savour this divine and life-changing experience.
Hike around the wild terrain, taking it all in. Beauty is at every angle. See the highest twin waterfalls in Western Australia plunging 80 metres while on a King George River scenic helicopter flight. Enjoy a wilderness picnic lunch packed by the chef. Visit the site of ancient rock art. Take a river cruise to secluded water holes for a refreshing dip. See rock wallabies, sea turtles and birds of prey.
Cuisine described as “flavours as rich as the scenery.” Try the oak barrell smoked salmon from Tasmina with fine Australian wines elegantly served at The Dunes Restaurant. If you are in the mood for something in particular, the chef will recreate your favourite dish on request.
Berkeley recently launched their our own airstrip and now also offer land based aircraft transfers (generally in C210) from both Kununurra as well as Darwin. The floatplane option is still available from Kununurra. Transfers are available daily.
