Hippies. Yogies. Divers.
Plum and orange sunsets. Massages on the beach. Lazy bike rides through the jungle. Views of the volcanic Lombok Island in the distance. True island living.
Anytime. The rainy season is November to April and the dry season is May to October.
Slow Gili Air is a boutique spa hotel consisting of 10 luxury villas in the jungle of Gili Air - a 2 km long, car-free Indonesian island. Slow was created by three Belgian friends (an architect, an ad man, and a dive instructor) and encompasses everything about the island lifestyle, with its approach to design, cuisine and day to day activities.
Choose a one or a two bedroom villa with a private pool and a terrace, surrounded by a coconut garden. Make sure to visit the spa - one of the most unique corners of the resort. Designed to reflect the curves of the island, with bamboo walls and sky lights, the spa creates a peaceful ambiance. Try one of the signature treatments using fresh aloe vera, cultivated on-site or indulge your inner hippie by getting a henna tattoo.
Gili Air is one of three tiny islands, a few hours east of Bali, where all you need is a bike and a snorkeling mask. Chill out at one of the many beach bars and watch the sun go down. Go horseback riding in the sea. Dive and discover Indonesia's rich underwater life, famous for turtles. Paddle board. Take a day trip to some of the other islands nearby - Gili Meno, Gili Trawangan or Lombok.
Seafood BBQs from Scallywags. Tuna kebab from the Chill-out Bar. Lasagna from BOOgils. Bintang (local beer).
Take a 3 hour speedboat ride from Bali and a horse-carts (Gili taxi) to the hotel.
