The Art of the Roaming Feast: Kitchen In The Wild

Far-Flung Adventures For The Culinary Curious

For centuries, the act of dining has been bound to four walls and predictable routines, removing us from the raw, sensory origins of what we consume. Stepping outside to cook in untamed landscapes radically shifts this dynamic, transforming a simple meal into an active, immersive dialogue with nature. To forage along wild coastlines, cook over open flames under open skies, and share food gathered directly from the surrounding ecosystem is to experience travel at its most visceral and grounding.

This emerging approach to wild journeys invites travelers to interact with the natural world through a completely fresh lens. It abandons artificial velocity and conventional luxury in favor of rare alchemy, where elemental landscapes, seasonal foraging, and ancestral cooking techniques converge. Whether gathering wild botanicals on windswept hillsides or dining beneath starlit skies, these outdoor culinary adventures offer a profound new way to eat, explore, and reconnect with the wild rhythms of the planet.

“Kitchen In The Wild is a series of hosted trips held in some of the world’s most wild and extraordinary destinations. These unique getaways are the result of an inspired collaboration between acclaimed chef and food writer Valentine Warner and visionary event organiser Clare Isaacs. Guests gather for 3-5 nights of feasting, foraging and cooking classes led by Valentine and top guest chefs from around the world. ”

Kitchen In The Wild brings this philosophy to life through a roving series of hosted journeys set in some of the world’s most extraordinary, remote destinations. Born from an inspired collaboration between acclaimed chef and food writer Valentine Warner and visionary event organizer Clare Isaacs, the concept is entirely distinct from standard restaurant chef pop-ups or tourist food itineraries. Operating as an itinerant event series rather than a fixed hotel partner, Kitchen In The Wild debuted in 2025 with a sell-out gathering at El Karama Lodge in Laikipia, Kenya, along with trips to the wild island of Eilean Shona on the Scottish coast. Today, the project extends to handpicked settings across Scotland, Spain, Italy, and Cornwall, gathering intimate groups for three to five nights of foraging, culinary masterclasses, and communal feasting.

Each evening, guest chefs collaborate to craft multi-course menus using hyper-local produce, bringing everyone together around generous tables filled with rich aromas, exceptional drinks pairings, and the warm, lively volume of days well spent in nature.”
